Professor Sujit Choudhry is a world renowned expert in comparative constitutional law. Many people are unfamiliar with the area of comparative law. Comparative law studies the differences as well as the similarities between legal systems. These differences in legal systems exist because every society creates a legal system that is largely reflective of that society’s religious, cultural and even economic values. Every legal system was created to address behavior considered to be wrong according to norms of that society.
Comparative law is very important in today’s world of increasing global economic interaction. Worldwide economic trade makes it imperative for countries to come together and find some common rules to facilitate business transactions.
