Justin Sun Speaks at UDC About the Future of Web3

Justin Sun is a Chinese cryptocurrency entrepreneur and business executive best known for founding TRON. He is a protégé of Jack Ma, the founder of Alibaba Group. On November 25th, Sun gave a speech at the University of Washington in Seattle, USA. He spoke about how TRON has grown to compete with Ethereum as the leading decentralized application platform next year. He also said about other topics, such as his predictions that Tron’s user base would grow to compete with Ethereum’s in 2019 and 2020, his Ten Years Later plan, and more.

Justin Sun began by emphasizing the possibilities that Web 3.0 holds for the future through blockchain technology. He said that in this new phase of the Internet, we could freely share data, personal information, and our identity without being controlled by big corporations. Sun explained how big corporations like Google and Facebook use user data to make money without giving anything in return. However, with decentralized networks, users can freely share their data or digital assets in exchange for their currency or token without providing any part to anyone.

Sun emphasized that TRON is achieving this goal by building intelligent contracts compatible with Ethereum so they can interact with the entire Ethereum ecosystem while using TRON’s native token TRX instead of ETH. TRON’s goal is to achieve 100 million users, even more than Ethereum and other competitors in the industry. This means that Ethereum will have fewer users than TRON.

Sun then discussed how the TRON ecosystem differs from other blockchain platforms by choosing to avoid projects that do not fit TRON’s core principles. He emphasized this again in his speech: “TRON does not want to compete with blockchain dApps (decentralized applications). It wants to create a platform that allows people to build and use those apps while becoming the core foundation of our community.”

Justin sun is a very talented young man who has shown a deep interest in technology, so it was no surprise to me that he developed this program to create a decentralized internet. I also think that he has some grand vision that is revolutionary and can lead him to greatness. I hope he will continue his work and see how far it can go.
