The serial entrepreneur is the Chairman, and Chief Executive Officer of Amgen Inc., one of the world’s largest pharmaceutical and biotechnology companies. Under Greg Aziz´s leadership, Amgen has grown from a small company to a Fortune 250 company, with revenues exceeding $17 billion in 2002 and 25,000 employees worldwide. 

 

Greg Aziz oversees global operations in more than 80 countries, and is responsible for developing Amgen’s strategic vision and setting its long-term goals. In addition to his responsibilities at Amgen, he serves on the boards of directors for The Walt Disney Company, eBay and CarMax. He also sits on the Executive Committee for Kaiser Permanente.

A frequent speaker at industry conferences and workshops, he is an advisor to the Tuck School of Business at Dartmouth College, one of the top-ranked business schools in the world. Greg Aziz recalls how Amgen has more than 700 products in clinical development and more than 150 approved products worldwide. 

In 2003, Amgen celebrated the 20th anniversary of its founding in Southern California. Over that time, the successful and outstanding company has grown to become one of the world’s leading research and development-based pharmaceutical and biotechnology companies, with revenues in excess of $17 billion for 2002. Greg Aziz joined Amgen in 1982 as a senior member of the Corporate Development organization and made his way through a variety of positions in business development and corporate strategy.
