Haroldo Jacobovicz – An Inspiration to All Entrepreneurs

Haroldo is the Founder and CEO of eGoverne Group, a firm that provides IT solutions and data security, founded in 2006. He is a well-known and recognized businessman and was also one of the founding members of the Presidential Council of the National Association of Small and Medium Enterprises (Anfavea), in 2003.

He graduated in Civil Engineering from the Federal University of Rio de Janeiro, where he also obtained a master’s degree in Engineering. Haroldo Jacobovicz was responsible for numerous international projects in Brazil and Europe. He is one of the pioneers of private sector participation in the development of information technology in Brazil, and the expert on the Ministry of Transport Infrastructure (MTA) in Smart Transport Systems, including both Road, Ferry, and Railway. Haroldo is also a regular speaker at events and a special guest on many radio and TV programs in Brazil.

Haroldo Jacobovicz has a bachelor’s degree from MIT with a major in Aerospace Engineering and a master’s degree in Global Systems Engineering. In addition to his degree, Haroldo has completed courses from École Polytechnique Fédérale de Lausanne in Switzerland, gained an Associate Certificate in Project Management and Enterprise Architecture from Cranfield University in England, and a Certificate in Computer Science from the Technische Universität München in Germany.

Since 2005, Haroldo Jacobovicz has focused on the promotion and development of Internet technologies to improve information access for people in emerging and developing countries and help solve real-world problems. He has used cutting-edge technology to create an information platform, accessible via telecommunication networks, that provides Internet access to people in more than 80% of the country’s municipalities. Through his internet service providers (ISPs), Jacobovicz’s companies provide over two billion hours of Internet access to the poor, according to projections.

Haroldo Jacobovicz has also been an Advisor to the Secretary of Energy for the city of Porto Alegre and has been involved with the clean- are the latest businesses to be launched by e-Governe S.A., a holding company based in São Paulo. All of the companies that form the Group are fully Brazilian, majority-owned by shareholders with a diversified global experience and knowledge in Information and Communications Technology.
